Sending ThankViews to Separate Contacts that Share One Email Address

ThankView de-duplicates a contact when you add them more than once so that there is only one contact profile per recipient in your portal. The email address is the main identifier. If the contact does not have an email address, then we use a cell phone number.

What if you have a couple who shares the same email address? This happens, so we have a solution! You can use the same email address for multiple recipients by adding a "+something" before the @emailaddress.

For example, you can send a ThankView to John Smith using the email, thesmiths@thankview.com. And then you can also send a ThankView to Jane Smith using thesmiths+jane@thankview.com.

This can be repeated however many times as you need.

It may be helpful to include the couple's salutation in the Preferred Name field in order to ensure that you are addressing them properly. In both John and Jane's contact profile, include "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" as their preferred name. When inserting a merge field into the email message, envelope, or description, both will receive their proper greeting.
