How to send from a custom email address

Sending ThankView campaigns from one custom email address is available for Starter, Pro, and Premium clients.

Adding multiple custom email addresses is an available option for Pro and Premium clients.

Without setting up an internal email address, all emails from your ThankView portal will send from hello@thankview.com.

A sender signature is a pre-defined email address for sending ThankViews from your domain.

  • Must be configured ahead of time.
  • May need your IT team.
  • You can have as many as you would like, but they must be set up by a ThankView employee.
  • The primary email address you provide becomes the default email. If you have more than one email set-up, you can change this in your campaign set-up.  
  • Must be validated on your end, clicking on a link through email. No validation email? Check with your email provider/IT team.
  • Does not require a DNS record.

If you’re looking to get set up quickly and don’t have the technical resources/IT team, Sender Signature is the way to go.

A DKIM DNS Record is a permission slip to send email from a domain. Essentially, it enables you to send from any @yourdomain.com email address.

  • Email address doesn’t need to be set up ahead of time.
  • IT team assistance required.
  • Option of including return path record which is required for some domains who perform more extended validation if your SPF (Sender Policy Framework) requires it.
  • Full DNS means we are asking you to add a DNS record to your domain.
  • Primary email address you provide becomes the default, but you can manually set this to any email address @your domain.
  • Email addresses you’re sending from don’t actually need to exist.

If you intend to send ThankView’s to internal stakeholders (i.e. faculty, students, staff, alumni, etc.), we highly recommend a full DNS set up. This will insure the highest deliverability rates of your ThankView messages and the greatest flexibility.

If tests are not going through, or your ThankViews are going to spam even after setting these up, you will need to allow our IP addresses:

  • @thankview.com
